Jen Groover Biography

Jennifer Groover, founder and CEO of Jen Groover Productions, has enough energy to power the Eastern seaboard, but instead she pours it into simultaneously running a growing innovation-based empire and reaching out to entrepreneurs and innovators worldwide. With a flagship product, the Butler Bag, that reached a million dollars in sales within only one year with expected second year profits reaching 10 million dollars, a position as creativity and innovation expert for a top national business magazine, an edu-tainment board game company selling out in book and toy stores nationwide, scores of patents in various stages of development, and multiple television shows and books launching within the next year, Jen Groover remains poised and focused on her ultimate goal and the goal of all her work: to change the way the country and the world look at business, creativity, innovation, risk, and ultimately the way they apply all of these values to their lives.

Jen will soon be able to reach out to even more people with her message, products, and unique way of thinking as 2008 sees her embarking on a global branding and licensing deal with the country's leading brand development company which recently oversaw the re-birth of the Isaac Mizrahi brand. While her dynamic energy and innovative strategies have earned her the title "one woman brand" by Success Magazine, drawn comparisons to Benjamin Franklin and Walt Disney by business analysts and writers, and her upward ascent in the business world is inevitable; this business woman-innovator-inventor-entrepreneur-designer-mother-wife still finds the time to shut the phone off nearly daily at 6 p.m. and focus on her most important venture and professional inspiration, her family.

In a remarkably short period of time, Jennifer Groover has not only begun to revolutionize every sector of business and design that she comes in contact with, but she is simultaneously starting to revolutionize the way people look at business, innovation, and life balance at the same time. Jen and her world-famous Butler Bag were recently featured on "The Big Idea with Donnie Deutsch" in a segment highlighting the story of her 'why didn't I think of that' idea where she was lauded by Donnie as a woman and company that were a "sure bet" both now and in the future. This television visit was one in a stream of appearances Jen has made which allow her to share not only her personal business success story, but also her message of innovation and inspiration. Other opportunities to share this mantra have included her appearance at the Philadelphia Governor's Conference alongside such powerhouses as Evelyn Lauder of the Lauder Company and Indra Nooyi, CEO of Pepsico. She also served as a keynote speaker at the International Women in Business Conference alongside several global business leaders.

Though a lifelong idea person, it only took a short amount of time after stepping into the business arena for people to immediately began taking notice of her unique strategies and way of thinking, and as a testament to her expertise in innovation, Jen currently holds the positive of 'Creativity and Innovation Guru' for Success Magazine and can be found sharing her wisdom weekly on their website, as well as in April 2007's Success Magazine Issue. Jen is also a guest editor for College-preneur Magazine as well as Pathways Magazine. Not only is she assisting people through these mediums, but Jen also serves as the Product Development, Entrepreneurship and Business Expert for Real Moms, Real Stories, Real Savvy (airing on PBS) and RealSavvyMoms.com. She will surely serve as an inspiration for all aspiring (and established) women in business. Jen's talent and dedication have also led to her being honored with a Momentum Award from the Ceslie Network/Ceslie.com for her unrelenting passion, compassion, and innovative spirit. Jen shares this honor with only a select few other of the best and brightest women in business today.

Because of her style of speaking that affects audiences both personally and professionally, Jen is an oft-requested speaker with audiences ranging from leaders at Time Inc. and Ladies Who Launch to members of New York City's famed Soho House to political figures to some of the most powerfully impacted young members of the female leadership academy Girls Take Charge. Whether she is taking on the subject of 'Re-Igniting Creativity' or following your 'why not me' life goals, the audiences' positive reactions are a constant testament to just that. Just ask co-founder of Ladies Who Launch, the national home to creative and entrepreneurial women who says of Jen (their newly dubbed "master in launching"), "Creative Powerhouse, Highly Energetic, Generous and Kind...just a few words I would use to describe inventor and entrepreneur extraordinaire Jen Groover. From her innovative Butler Bag to her ability to develop products in any area, we just watch in awe as she continues her upward ascent."

Jen is a trusted expert on innovation and has always known it would be part of her future. While some longed to be doctors or teachers, Jen always knew she was, and would be, an 'idea person'. Now she longs for the day when 'innovator' will be a choice on every child's career prospects, and Chief Creative Director will be the norm at every company. As Mort Fleishcner, former executive producer of ABC Nightly News and Good Morning America has said of Groover, "Jen Groover is in a league of her own. She's an inspiration to everyone trying to find the best in life. At home and in business, Jen projects a positive and innovative lifestyle, motivating thousands of women and men who seek success. It is a joy being around her as she is a major asset to any business project as well as any discussion or strategy session in general."

From a childhood spent as the latch-key daughter of two successful and self-made entrepreneurs, Jen was not only instilled with an "empowered to dream and believe philosophy" but also forced to nurture her creative and innovative spirit by relying on herself for both care-taking and entertainment. A prime example of that same 'necessity is truly the mother of invention' attitude she adopted as a child is the development and subsequent success of the Butler Bag, just one of the over ten patents and over fifteen trademarks Jen Groover Production LLC holds. A harried mother of twin baby girls at this point in her life, Jen turned a moment of panic: digging for a credit card in a messy purse in a busy store while balancing a screaming baby on each hip, into a moment of inspiration: the creation of the Butler Bag, a sleek, stylish, and compartmentalized handbag that offers women both form and function. Jen's little stroke of genius graced the pages of magazines such as O Magazine, Accessories Magazine (as a 'best of 2006'), Redbook, Us Weekly and Life & Style Magazine to name a few in only its first year, and walked the Red Carpet in both the Emmys, movie premieres, and the Video Music Awards. The bag is so popular that it has been known to open stores at a rate of up to 40 per week and the sales have been beyond company and personal expectations. Within a year of its introduction to the market, and without spending a penny on advertising, the line reached the million dollar mark in sales.

With the success of her handbag line, one would be quick to pass Jen off as a gifted designer who knows what women want, but that would only be describing one of the many areas on innovation she has undertaken. While launching her Butler Bag, Jen drew on her studies in education and psychology to create a children's category of toys and tools guaranteed to make the lives of parents much easier, called Hurdle Hoppers which soon became a part of the ever growing Jen Groover Productions. With this branch of the company Jen identified an emerging niche in the market by providing parents with problem-solution products that are developmental toys and tools for children. In association with this she launched a television show, called "A Mom's Life" and penned a book of the same title. This will not be Jen's only show, however. During 2007/2008 at least two entrepreneurial based shows created by this idea woman will hit the airwaves, with several more television programs and books in various stages of development-stay tuned! Though each is as unique and diverse as all of her other projects, the driving force behind her whole life, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, will play a primary role in two set to debut on network television within the next year.

Jen Groover Productions and Jen Groover's ingenuity and innovative streak are not limited to the aforementioned products, as Jen serves as a creative and business consultant to several other companies and to date has successfully contributed to the launch and development of approximately fifty other companies and products.

In addition to her many undertakings, Jen is also a successful on-air guest host on QVC, to which she credits giving her profound experience in understanding media sales. Products presented by Jen have sold out in record numbers repeatedly.

Additionally, Jen has successfully co-launched a line of 'edu-tainment' games through her partnership with McNeill Designs for Brighter Minds that are sold (and selling out) at Borders, Barnes & Noble as well as FAO Schwartz. Plans are already hatched to supplement these games with a television show, books, Internet resources, and seminars, and the books are the fastest selling non-advertised games in the history of many locations. McNeill Designs is also currently co-branding with other well known names such as the Harry Potter brand and Reader's Digest.

Because Jen constantly surrounds herself with entrepreneurs, one of her goals is to be instrumental in bringing their ideas to market as well. To this end, she runs another company called Jenuine Concepts, in which she has partnered with another female entrepreneur to assist in taking other company's products to market through various retail venues, home-shopping, DRTV, catalogs, and storefronts. Jenuine Concepts unique ability to evaluate these products and strategies and implement how best to make them successful has allowed them to do their job successfully and touch multiple companies nationwide.

Jen also shares her business acumen at regular sessions at the Learning Annex, at which her class holds the record of the highest rated customer satisfaction and benefit. Along with teaching her programs on "How to Launch A Handbag Line", and "How to Launch a Company", Jen has developed five core curriculum classes for the Annex.

In 2007 in another effort to positively impact and aid other entrepreneurs, Jen began work on her first book (with the Ebeling Agency) based on her mantra and blog "what if and why not" that is sure to impact readers in their personal and professional lives as they struggle to find their true calling and passion in life.

Due to her success as an entrepreneur and the success of her outside of the box strategies, Jen has been featured everywhere from the Success Magazine to the Washington Post to Fashion Wire Daily to Entrepreneur Magazine. She also writes and speaks frequently on how taking the road less traveled in business has led to her astronomical success in such a short period of time.

Because of her ongoing entrepreneurial growth, desire to succeed, innovative spirit and passion for people, Jen Groover has become a successful and balanced businesswoman who refuses to pick just one box to fit in, and instead to thrive in all of them. Jen Groover currently resides in Pennsylvania with her husband and twin daughters and has offices in both Pennsylvania and New York City.
